Take the N330 motorway northwest from Alicante International Airport and a pleasant drive of under half an hour brings us to the town of Sax (population 9,000). The general area has richly cultivated plains created by the river Vinalopo which runs through the region.

Much less visited than the coastal areas there are some lovely towns and villages to be discovered. Being a crossroad of sorts the region has a rich history and towns are often characterised by the presence of Moorish castles. Sax itself lies at the base of a striking outcrop of rock on top of which is a 14th century castle.

The site for the LA ROCA APARTMENTS is a pleasant avenue close to all the facilities available in Sax. The urban centres of Elda and Petrer are around 5 minutes away and offer more sophisticated shopping. The provincial Capital - Alicante - is close enough and, as well as a rich cultural history, offers visitors a superb Marina, a palm lined promenade complete with comprehensive entertainment centre plus world class shopping, dining and entertainment facilities.

It is more or less all motorway to reach Benidorm - the town’s renowned nightlife and golden beaches need no introduction. Beside Benidorm is the Disney style Terra Mitica theme park - a wonderland for children of all ages.

Golfers will be pleased to know that nearby courses include Alenda Golf - just 15 minutes or so from Sax.
